Famous composers play a very important role in the evolution of music.  Most of the music we listen to now was influenced by a composer from the past.  Each composer is very different and brings his or her own style to the music, a sound of the country or region they were from, and a very interesting story!

Visit this site to learn about composers in a fun way.  There are many games to learn about individual composers, as well as test your knowledge on the songs each wrote.  This site also includes jazz composers!  

 

Take a walk through the New York Philharmonic's Composer Gallery.  Here you will find information on hundreds of composers, including time periods, country of origin, syle of music, birthdays, and even hear some of their music.
